Peace Essay Contest Winner

Congratulations to Alex Fuhrman,10, who was awarded first prize in the Peace Essay contest on PEACE Sunday, December 5th. The essay topic was "What It Means to Be a Peace Maker". Alex is shown here with his prize which included a gift card from Border's Books. 
 
Alex's sister, Natalie, 8, won honorable mention.

Peace Makers

Peace Makers are people that are accepting of others.  They are kind, helpful, and respectful.  Whether you are talking about siblings getting along with each other, policemen protecting citizens, parents making peace between their children or guidance counselors making peace between students.  The one that rises above all others is the Lord.  He makes peace through everybody, by lifting their spirits and lightening their moods; an example would be hearing someone’s voice for the first time in a long time.

So as you can see there are many ways to be a Peace Maker to friends and family.
